Based in Nairobi, Ory invests in for-profit and non-profit organisations in Africa that foster civic participation and increase transparency and accountability in government.

Prior to that, she was a founding member of Ushahidi, a crowdsourcing platform that visualises citizen-reported information to increase accountability, and co-founder of Mzalendo, a website that tracks the performance of Kenyan Members of Parliament.
Ory was named on the 2014 TIME 100 List of the World's Most Influential People.
