Governance Data Alliance Update

In a fast-paced, high-energy, brilliantly-facilitated meeting in April 2014, representatives from more than 30 organizations from all over the globe gathered in Washington DC to discuss governance data. The event convened producers and consumers of data on corruption, budget transparency, civil liberties, rule of law, ease of doing business, and more. The goal was to discuss how to create better feedback loops between data suppliers and data users and better coordinate the efforts of data producers. The result was an energized conversation with a clear path forward: design and develop a Governance Data Alliance.

You can read a lot more about the meetings at the following links:
* Blog (here and here) authored by the events co-hosts, Nathaniel Heller (Global Integrity) and Alicia Phillips Mandaville (Millennium Challenge Corporation)
* Reuters article on the event, written by attendee Stella Dawson (Chief Correspondent for Anti-Corruption and Governance, Thompson Reuters Foundation)

Going forward, there is a lot of work to be done to turn the alliance idea into a reality, but there's a plan in place and lots of eager experts ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
