In a fast-paced, high-energy, brilliantly-facilitated meeting in
April 2014, representatives from more than 30 organizations from all over the globe gathered in Washington DC to discuss governance data. The
event convened producers and consumers of data on corruption, budget transparency, civil liberties, rule of law, ease of doing business, and more. The goal was to discuss how to create better feedback loops between data suppliers and data users and better coordinate the efforts of data producers. The result was an energized conversation with a clear path forward: design and develop a Governance Data Alliance.

Going forward, there is a lot of work to be done to turn the alliance idea into a reality, but there's a plan in place and lots of eager experts ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
