Omidyar Network recently renewed grants to three organizations it supports through its Governance & Citizen Engagement initiative. Renewal grant recipients included: The Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) at Stanford University; Fundacion Ciudadano Inteligente of Santiago, Chile; and Livity Africa in Johannesburg.
CDDRL’s three-year and up to $830,000 grant will continue support for the Omidyar Network Leadership Forum’s alumni network and student internships.
Fundacion Ciudadano Inteligente’s one-year and up to $250,000 general operating grant will be used to further the organization’s mission of promoting government transparency and accountability in Latin America by using web and mobile technologies to encourage active citizen participation in the political process.
Livity Africa’s three-year, up to $535,000 general operating grant will support Livity Africa’s work to help increase the participation of youth in South Africa’s democracy.
Omidyar Network’s Governance & Citizen Engagement initiative works to build stronger and more open societies by increasing government responsiveness and citizen participation.
