Request for Proposal (RFP): Contractor, Power BI

Luminate is a global philanthropy ecosystem funder that supports people, organisations, and movements that are challenging the outsized power of Big Tech, specifically the misuse of digital technology by governments. Luminate is focused on enabling people to fully participate in civic and political life, to safely challenge power, and to access accurate, trustworthy information. Luminate works globally with a regional focus on Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It was established by philanthropists Pierre and Pam Omidyar.

Luminate currently utilises Power BI dashboards for managing organisation-wide financial reporting. The current dashboards pull together data from Luminate’s CRM system in Salesforce, Financial system in NetSuite, Expense reporting in Expensify, and a variety of SharePoint files. Luminate seeks a contractor to help in managing the existing dashboards. Services are to include: 

1. Support maintaining existing dashboards (3 in total), including a weekly check 
2. Provide advice and execute set up of new dashboards, as needed
3. Ensure connectivity between Luminate systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite) and Power BI
4. Advise on automatic push pull options between all Luminate systems and Power BI
5. Provide training to identified Luminate staff 
6. Provide ongoing maintenance services and advise on any modifications that could amplify finalised dashboards

Since 2020, Luminate has utilised Microsoft Power BI to visualize program portfolio and financial data for trend analysis, performance management, and to generate other key insights to meet regular forecasting, planning, and decision-making needs. Currently, Luminate has 5 super users and approximately 60 general users. Luminate users are globally spread across 14 countries. We estimate, based on prior experience, that Luminate will need approximately 10 hours of support per month. Luminate anticipates the support contract to start 1 March 2025 and be in place for 24 months. 

The ultimate goal of the project is to sustain and refine current Power BI operations. The successful bidder will:

• Demonstrate substantial experience and knowledge of Power BI
• Demonstrate experience in Salesforce and Netsuite
• Have familiarity working with the philanthropic community
• Have familiarity working within the MAC Operating System environment
• Be available for weekly check-ins, virtually

The project budget should not exceed USD 50,000.
