In 2011, under the leadership of Barack Obama and Dilma Roussef, the “Open Government Partnership” (or Open Government Partnership - OGP) was launched, an international initiative that pushes countries to “open” their modes of governance by being more transparent and involving citizens more in decisions that affect them. The Open Democracy collective's mission is to translate the Anglo-Saxon concept and to ensure that France adheres to the OGP by initiating an ambitious action plan. It is thanks to a very active citizen lobbying of the collective that France took the presidency of the international organization in 2016, during the World Summit of the Partnership for an open government at the Palais d'Iéna in Paris.
