As Vice President of Global Programmes and Luminate Strategic Initiatives, Juana leads Luminate's efforts to foster meaningful civic and political participation across regions while combating digital threats through policy reform and building a healthier global information ecosystem.

She has an extensive track record dedicated to human rights and a strong background in campaigning, programme design, and institutional strengthening. Prior to joining Luminate, Juana held a number of positions in civil society. She most recently served as Executive Director of Conectas in Brazil, one of the leading organisations dedicated to the defense of human rights and democracy. She previously worked in Argentina as institutional coordinator of Center for Legal and Social Studies (CELS) and as coordinator of their Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Program. She has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Brazil Human Rights Fund and on the Advisory Board of Open Global Rights, and she is the Chair of the Global Witness Board.
